I wish I had come up with this myself…

That. Is. Beast!
Yep, it the Variant cover to Green Lantern # 9…..
Oh god…now Robin’s REALLY going to feel inferior!
I wonder what his motto would be…
In darkest night,
In darkest night,
No evil shall escape my sight,
In darkest night,
I’m the goddamn Batman.
It’s okay, the cover doesn’t show this but they handled it by making Frank Miller chase him with a pitcher of lemonade and a glass.
That does occur to me though, even though Batman is the superhero with the most developed rogue’s gallery, none of the main ones feature yellow as a primary element of their costume. It’s been used as highlight for The Riddler and Ra’s Al Ghul a few times, but I can only think of Firefly and Killer Moth as individuals that make common use of it.
Yellow’s too bright. None of Batman’s villains are allowed to be bright and perky. Well, except Joker and Harley, but that kinda goes without saying.
Roxie Rocket? She was a thrill-seeker. Very perky. (I might have gotten her first name slightly wrong, though).
Wow, we’re really digging into the deepest depths of Batman’s Rogues Gallery here, aren’t we? 😛 Yeah I guess there’s Roxie (Roxy?) Rocket.
These days though, every villain’s getting dark and edgy. Even the Riddler’s leaning to darker riddles. I’d love to see what Dark Knight Trilogy does with him if they ever do (unlikely).
Signalman–yellow from head to toe
If you’ve ever played Arkham Asylum, there’s a patient tape where Riddler has a riddle ending with a mutilated baby. I’d say that fits Nolan’s Riddler, if they ever put him in.
hey ya’ll. most of the chat on the net suggests that Johnny Depp will play one of my favorite villains in the history of the Bat, the Riddler. i must say that Nolan is proving to be one of the best Directors i have ever seen. he is a genius and i am proud to have him bringing to life one of my favorite Heroes ever…..if only he had directed the Marvel movies. i would have loved to see the things he couldve done with the X-Men Trilogy and the X-Men Origins movie list.
BTW this is one of the most amazing Bat-pics ever!!! send me some of the ones you find.
Ah, I remember hearing about rumors that Depp would play Riddler, as well as Cher (um..) playing Catwoman, and some fat guy as Penguin. I personally would love it if Poison Ivy was played by Angelina Jolie….I’d drool lol. But need a harley man, to bad Joker wont be in it though. Unless they recast him. I wouldnt mind, as long as he’s based off the Joker from Arkham Asylum >:] THAT’D BE BLOODY WICKED!! XD
my version of the Batman Green Lantern Oath:
in the worst of days and blackest nights,
I shall be fear for evil’s sight.
Gotham beware, I’m not Batman tonight,
and I’m not just a green lantern, I’m the Darkest Knight
Batman’s new catchphrase: “You think you can beat me? Hell, you didn’t have a chance back when I was just a billionaire dressed like a bat. Are you retarded?”
Mick that is F***kin sick dude
isn’t giving batman any super power the same as nerfing batman?
i mean its batman he is over powered as himself anyway.
also spoiler: the batman is the only hero to have a takedown plan for EVERY sing DC hero. so if he wanted to he could kill a green lantern.
Of course he has (had) a plan to kill Green Lantern. How do you think he got the ring? 😛
The photo was taken from Green Lantern where Sinestro tried to recruit or control Batman but Batman was able to resist the ring’s power.
Bat lantern, nerfing means making weaker, so no, giving batman any superpower would not be the same as nerfing him. It’d make him unstoppable. You probably wanted to say something like “wouldn’t giving him a power make him unreasonable/suck/no fun” or any other variation of things that possibly translate to making him overpowered.
Learn, I think he meant nerf. Batman’s ingenuity and integrity stems from his lack of power. Giving him the lantern may even end up making him dependent as time goes on. He’s at his best when he’s himself
In the depths of Gotham’s lonesome night,
No evil can escape my sight.
Let those who cower in the light
Beware the wrath of Darkest Knight!
Just get Batman a Green Lantern ring and get the hell out of there if you’re a villan.
Hmm. What if you’re a villain whose scheme involves giving Batman a GL ring and getting him to destroy the world? (He does enough collateral damage with his fists and low-level explosives–I think it’s sort of plausible that he might destroy the universe with a GL ring).
When is that ever a good idea
Well, okay, it’s not a good idea. However, if your plans ever involve running against Batman, it might be your best idea. At least if he has a GL ring, your demise might be quick and painless.
lolz and just for reference kiddies giving the Goddamned Batman a power ring of any kind is NEVER a good idea.
Richard E Nigma = Edward Norton.
He’s my pick if they do him next 😀
Sick pic !
He surely deserves better than the Hulk.
If Batman got a GL ring, I think both villians AND Justice Leaguers alike would be quietly saying under their breaths… “ohhhh sh*t”
Hahahahaha
There’s also an Elseworld’s story where he gets the power ring instead of Hal Jordan right before he would have decided to go with the batman costume, haven’t read it, but it sounds like an awesome idea.
That’s awesome. Screw Frank Miller, by the way. Hack.
I haven’t followed his work closely enough to have an opinion on his overall quality, but I did find this greatly amusing: Frank Miller is Spiraling Out of Control.
in darkest day in blackest night..no evil shall escape my might…no green lanterns here tonight a sinister hero batlanterns might…kinda sucks lol i like the ending tho
Two things batman might say in this pic
“BEST RINGPOP EVERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!” or ” Hey look, it’s even got a lil watch in it!”
Here’s another
“YESSSSSSSS, Superman is gonna be sssoooooooo pissed!”
Bat Lantern’s motto – “Dude, I’m gonna get TWICE the tail i was gettin before!!!!!”
this is awesome but you can kill green lantern batman with a yellow pencil lol
Perhaps you could kill Green Lantern with a yellow pencil, but I pity anybody that tries to take down Batman that way…
The second demotivational is missing
OMG! That is so freaking awesome. Batman has been and always will be the greatest superhero ever! (Even if he does have a thing for cats) 😉
Wow I just read some of batman by frank miller and its pretty wierd 🙁 batman was more of a dick than normal lol and robin nearly killed hal jordan by smashing his wind pipe. Frank miller definately has no love for hal jorden let alone the green laterns corps haha but seriously batman was an a**hole to hal which kinda made me laugh.
The scene with the lemonade and the house painted yellow was pretty funny. GL’s weakness to yellow is so ridiculous that I think it’d be hard to use in a story except as straight-up comedy, and I like the tone Miller took with it.

Lol try some of the lemonade, but seriously robin nearly killed hal I mean he like punched him in the throat. Hal was being bullied by an emotionally unstable 12 year old who’d been kidnapped by the batman.
robin looks mad
Damn you and your lemonade. There’s been worse battle-cries, but I couldn’t name one for my life…
If it was intended as comedy, I think it was extremely effective. The entire setup–painting the whole place yellow so that GL will be useless–struck me as hilarious, and the lemonade taunting was merely the awesomest part.
o.O
Initial reaction: Awesome! Gotham villains are screwed!
5 seconds later: Oh crap. I just remembered what Batman said he’d do if he ever got a hold of one of those rings for long enough. Everyone, welcome to a utopia-like totalitarian world run by Bruce Wayne.
green lantern could kill batman easy.
“Green Lantern could kill Batman easy.” Frank Miller disagrees!
The problem with this is that Hal actually GAVE Batman his ring and told him if he thought he was man enough to handle it to take it and kill him with it. Batman, as much as I love him, couldn’t so much as summon the willpower to create a flaccid green beam that emerged maybe a foot before diminishing. He asked Hal if that’s what it felt like every time he used and Hal said EVERY TIME! Batman might take the yellow ring and inspire fear… but he’ll never be able to handle Hal’s ring.
Oh, and yellow only weakens rookie lanterns. Hal and the rest of the GL Corps have done battle with Sinestro and their yellow rings… so not only does the mere color yellow not bother them, but yellow power rings don’t hold a candle to what Hal and some of the other GL’s can do. You guys should really read up on things before making assumptions that are over a decade old.
“Oh, and yellow only weakens rookie lanterns…You guys should really read up on things before making assumptions that are over a decade old.” I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an authority on GL, but I don’t think DC has been consistent on that front. For example, All Star Batman & Robin (published from 2005-8) used the restriction on yellow with a vengeance.
The Batman + Green Lantern Power Ring= The worse fear of God & the Devil themselves.

I can see the Joker standing on the street below, looking up at Bats and saying; ‘fuck’.
if you can do anything just by thinking it, and you die, you would have to be pretty stupid. now if your batman, and you can do any thing just by thinking it, then you cant die. wow i just noticed the last post was in 2011…
It was my understanding that the weakness to yellow came from some mixture of parallax being trapped in the battery on oa and later based on the fact that green lanterns were supposed to be fearless. Kyle’s recognition of fear and ability to overcome it was what made him the first without the weakness. He then “taught” that to others. What they’ve done since that I’m less sure
How is it though that in referencing bat-rouges with yellow you all forgot the one that may… Strangely…. Be most dangerous in this situation, Condiment Man! His mustard gun could stop batman in mid flight. That might almost be inconvenient! Quite the oversight people. I’m disappointed in you forgetting such a terror as he.
Condiment King! How could you have forgotten his blood-drenched name already!?
How about this. Batman is the summation of all of the Lantern Corps.
Willpower: He got over his parents death and pledged his life to defend the common man. Plus, there was a comic where he actually did get a Green Lantern ring and Gordon called him overpowered.
Fear: He was able to conquer his fear, and his entire memo is that he inspires fear in others. He also almost became one until he ripped the ring off his hand.
Anger: He was extremely angry at Joe Chill, and criminals in general, and used massive amounts of his fortune just to punch these kind of guys.
Hope: He is the person who, when Gotham is ruined, that people can depend on to pick up the pieces. I’m not sure if this is relevant but in The Dark Knight Rises he was the symbol of hope for the entire city.
Greed: Instead of helping the town by creating charities and improving the lives of the people by building structures ( like his father ), he instead fights criminals with fancy gadgets. He could help more by just helping the city.
Compassion: He was called by a person as the “most human one of us all.” In almost every portrayal of his death, he was helping a child, or forgiving an enemy, and died doing so. He risks his life to protect people, which shows his compassion for humans.
Life: He fights for it, he dedicated his for the lives of others, and he never would kill a fellow human being.
Death: His life is full of it. The main turning point in his life is the death of his parents, frequently people around him die, and he almost dies very frequently, and he hides in the shadows.
He is literally the most human of us all.
