The end is nigh!
Hello, I'm an assistant editor providing writing advice. SN specializes in superhero writing advice, obviously, but most of the advice here applies to fantasy and sci-fi as well.
We have page 2 fully colored. What do you think? (The main thing from page 1 is that we know someone’s trying to kill the protagonist here).
The rest of our query will include 4 more colored pages, the script for the rest of the first issue, the cover for the first issue, the synopsis for the series, and the query letter. I think the main obstacle at this point is the cover.
LOOK, that guy is wearing orange and purple. My favorite combination. YAY!!!
I like the sign “TAX MAN” on his car, he wears a title that most people despise, proudly.
His car probably got keyed a lot. Before it exploded in a giant fireball, of course. Haha.
Aww…poor kitty in the corner! He looks terrified.
I love the kitten. It’s such a cute touch and helps establish an offbeat tone on a page that might otherwise be too gritty and bleak. If readers aren’t at least chuckling when they read this page, I think we’ve failed.
I like this! The lines are nice and the coloring is perfect. And if this is the second page, it makes me want to go to the third and onward.
I really cannot wait to see the finished product.
