Erik Larsen’s Comic Book Submission Answers
If you’re interested in submitting a comic book, particularly to Image, I would really recommend checking out these answers from Erik Larsen.
- Q: “Erik, what would happen, if say, you received a proposal where the art wasn’t good enough for it to be accepted but the pitch and story was extremely impressive and one of the best ideas you’d ever come across?” A: “It would be rejected.”
- Q: “Would you consider publishing a story written by a 16-year-old? I’m talking about legal issues.” A: “What legal issues? If the work is exceptional–we’ll publish it. Most 16-year olds aren’t that good, however.”
Bad link–at least for me.
Could you double-check? It’s working for me on Chrome and Firefox.
Works fine for me too. I’ve read through around half of them so far; really enjoying / appreciating the link. Thank you!
Works here, thanks so much for the link B.Mac its really helpful.
Bah. Works now.
Does Image still work that way? Just skimming, it looks like a business model I haven’t seen before. Maybe I’m wrong (see: ‘the link is dead,’ above), but is it the case that some initial money flows from the writer to the publisher?
Many of Erik’s answers were blunt and discouraging. Not like your replies, B. Mac. Your answers are detailed and encouraging. Most of Erik’s replies were insult laden. Ok, some questions were irritating. But still…
Thats only my opinion though. I may be wrong.
